Induction of New Members

A new member may be inducted, at any time, provided that all three of the following criteria are met. 

• No less than two (2) current members will serve as witness 

• The tribute toast card; and

• The Dead Pearl Society lapel pin.

** If the three criteria are not met, membership into The Dead Pearl Society cannot be conferred.

Note: The Dead Pearl Society Tribute Toast Card and lapel pins can be purchased for a nominal fee from Mark Dickerson. The handbook and membership enrollment form are found on deadpearlsociety.org.   

Procedure to use in Induction Ceremony:

The witness members shall convey the Ogden Family story, and then read the Tribute Toast card aloud to the inductee. The inductee shall consume a dry martini (can be dirty) fully, a sip will not do. Gin or Vodka is the choice of the inductee. Original Dry Martini’s only. Specialty martini’s, such as Cosmopolitan’s etc. are not allowed.

Once the martini has been consumed, the witness member will give the tribute toast card to the new member and will pin The Dead Pearl Society lapel pin onto their apparel. The new member will complete the membership enrollment form and give it to the witness members. An initial fee of $10.00 will be collected and sent to Mark Dickerson (see below). Enrollment forms are sent to Helen Dickerson or to any of the Original Members (see below)
